My Experience so far...
Merchandising Admin Assistant
July 2024 - present
I completed a 12 month placement at Yours Clothing as a merchandising admin assistant. I completed 8 months on the jersey department, and then moved to wovens and bottoms. I currently assist part time on the bottoms department at the same time as my final year studies. Some of my responsibilities include:
-
Communicating with internal and external stakeholders such as suppliers across the world
-
Assisting with reporting for trade, strategy, and sign off meetings
-
Producing and updating reports such as weekly sales reports, lessons learnt, and best and worst sellers
-
Monitoring the critical path, ensuring timely delivery of orders, and approving packing lists and invoices
-
Raising new products and orders for suppliers on VMR system
-
Training and supporting two trainee merchandisers in their new roles

During Rebekah’s time at Yours Clothing, she demonstrated a strong work ethic, taking on new tasks consistently throughout the year, without being phased or overwhelmed. Rebekah was able to adapt to a change in workload efficiently, assisted with other departments where required and was confident to ask for help if required. - Senior Merchandiser, Yours Clothing

Seasonal Sales Assistant

Søstrene Grene, Nottingham
During the first term of my final year at university, I worked at Søstrene Grene as a seasonal sales assistant. This added to my retail experience and included tasks such as:
-
Keeping shelves well stocked during the busy Christmas period, including assembling creative displays and following Søstrene Grene’s visual merchandising standards
-
Spreading ‘hygge’ through exceptional customer service skills and operating cash registers
-
Assisting with deliveries and stockroom duties to maintain organisation
September 2023 - July 2025
Marketing Internship
During my 2nd year at university, I interned at a new start-up brand 'Shades Dancewear', which creates inclusive dancewear for all skin colours. Alongside this, I assisted in their research projects for the 'TIRED Movement' which is a movement aiming to educate people about racial inequality within the dance industry. I had not considered being involved in marketing before but thoroughly enjoyed the tasks I was given which included:
-
Creating communications to UK dance colleges, universities, examining bodies, theatres, and dancewear shops
-
Undertaking market research and analysing consumer shopping habits to develop an effective omnichannel strategy
-
Assisting the TIRED movement with their research into improving racial equality and equity in dance through interviews and focus groups
-
Assisting at events such as Move It & International Women’s Day events to increase brand awareness

September 2022 - September 2023
Volunteer Sales Assistant

Whilst completing my first year at university, I volunteered at White Rose which is a charity supporting the Aegis Trust. During my time there, I learnt valuable skills through my main responsibilities, which were:
-
Organising and pricing deliveries and keeping shop floor tidy
-
Interacting with customers and working at the till
-
Hanging and merchandising clothing items, creating eye catching window displays
Etsy Shop Assistant
March 2020 - March 2021
During the Covid-19 lockdowns, I assisted my mum with her Etsy business 'Annie Thornally'. She was originally selling a wide range of crafts including seasonal items, stationery, and quilting patterns. Then during the lockdown period, she began selling face masks which began to sell very quickly and meant that we had to work around the clock to get all orders out on time. I learnt many skills such as time management and efficiency, amongst the jobs that I took over doing:
-
Hand making and sewing orders, and responding to customer inquiries
-
Organising, packaging and sending around 50 orders a day - working to tight next-day deadlines
-
Providing quality products - face masks, pencil cases, bags, stationery, calendars, and more
